About

FÀilte bed and breakfast

Tucked away in Rockfield Road on Oban Hill, halfway between the town centre and McCaigs Tower, is Fàilte. Fàilte Bed and Breakfast is a uniquely renovated  Victorian Villa built in 1884. It comprises of one Tripple Room, three Double Rooms and one Single Room. High ceilings, white walls, wooden floors, comfortable chairs and King Size Beds make it a desirable place to visit.  We are a ten-minute walk from the town centre, where you can travel via train, bus or ferry and bicycle to the Highlands and Islands.

As proud patrons of creativity, we feature original art works by Pascal and Isabel Miehe.

We want you to feel Welcome - Fàilte!

The Owners

Thomas and Isabel Miehe

We are married and have three grown up children. When the youngest moved out of the house in 2015, it was time for a change. We moved to Oban, took over Fàilte, made it our own and hope to give you a memorable stay!

Thomas, is a German national and grew up in Namibia. He studied Hotel Management in South Africa and worked for several years in Namibia, South Africa and Germany before moving to Scotland in 2008.

Isabel is a Portuguese national and grew up in South Africa. She worked in Education in Namibia and Child Care in Scotland.

In 2015 we acquired Fàilte B&B in Oban  and have never looked back!  We look forward to welcoming you to our home.
